ENGINEERING PROJECTS/TEAM PROJECTS

Facial Recognition Smart Door (Team M.T.E.K) Aug 2018 – May 2019

• Part of a 4 person team that created a facial recognition-based home security system using Python (dlib, sci-kit) and SQL that scans the face of whoever is at a front door, identifies them as a resident, and unlocks their door

using light and motion sensors, and a locking mechanism on the Raspberry Pi.

• Built a KNN (Nearest Neighbor) classifier on top of Neural Network to identify distinct faces from unknowns
• Created an interface to be able to add new home residents to system using the PyGUI frontend framework

Command Line Interface Oct-Nov 2017

• Led a 4 person team to create a command line interpreter using the C language, the fork-exec model, pipelining, and file redirection.
• Established weekly goals for the project, and communicated with team members to determine checkpoints, give assistance as needed, and present progress to professor throughout the project’s duration.
